new gpuViewer version available
This new version brings a lot of speed back, thanks to better use of memory and a better organisation of tasks. There should be less crashes too, please continue to let me know about them. Thanks to these optimisations, we were able to switch from thumbnails to previews earlier than before, which I’m sure will please many people.
There may be some issues with setup: the project now uses the Intel compiler, as it generates code optimised to a greater extent. This has improved performances but also may require more files than I was distributing previously. Please let me know urgently if you have setup problems.
Go to the dowload area and download your version now!
Please, please, please, send feedback.

fantastic - it runs much much smoother, and a LOT more faster!!
Great!
Im not sure why the world map is there however, are you thinking that pictures with GPS info are displayed at the correct positions on the map?
In that case a picture-to-map-position function is much needed because i doubt many users have GPS info in their pictures - i know i dont.
Unless you’re trying to re-do Google Earth - in that case ignore my comments
Also, is it possible to include the start-frame of video files as picture? I have a bunch of small home videos (takes with my digital camera) and i cant seem to find the videos i’m looking for.
That would also be a nice feature..
Keep up the good work!

I cannot get it to work. A few versions ago I had no problems, but now, when I “Open Catelog” in my photos folder, it loads some of the very early ones, but nothing else.
The folder has about 240 folders, 12,000 photos and is about 16gb. Is that too big?
Any help or advice would be great, I was blown away the last time I tried it!

Same problem as mjo172, gpue viewer will not include latest pictures (all of 2008 for me). Also, when I install the new “deep viewer” it will not open the existing catalogue. If I rename the existing catalogue and let “deep viewer” re-scan it only picks up 2 sets of photos even though I have many many photos in different sub directories.
Any idea whats wrong?
